GARTH, baby, GARTH!!

(PS, there are not my pics, they are from internet...I was not that close :))

Oh man, who loves Garth Brooks??? Uh, me. I have always had an appreciation for him and country and Saturday night I had the chance to attend one of his 5 concerts benefiting the LA fire fighters. He is such an AMAZING performer, I swear I cried three times, once during The Dance, during Gods Greatest Gifts, and then at the end. He came back on stage for his encore song and told us how when he was just down there, a Staples Center worker introduced herself, saying it was so great to meet him, and what was it like to get up in front of 30,000 people? He said that his dad always told him if you want to experiance something you should just jump in with both feet. And with that, he pulled her up on stage and she was crying and patting her chest like she just couldn't beleive it. Of course, the crowd went crazy, it was so powerful. Then he let her stay on stage for the last song, then pulled her over and told the whole crowd to take out their cameras and take of a pic of him and her together on the count of three. He said three and the stadium just lit up with flash after flash, it was awesome! Then he told her that clearly she couldn't take one of the pics home unless someone gave her his camera, and when he siad that I started freaking out and was like "The hat!! The hat!!" and sure enough, he gives her his Stetson!!!! It was soooo cool!!! He is such a peoples performer, Friday night he gave someone his guitar. What a wonderful performer and what an experiance!!

Below is a post of that night of him singing Gods Greatest Gifts, which is such a sweet song. You can hear the whole audience singing along, it was very moving...

Wylie's favorite grooming position

See, Wylie lick. See Wylie sit. His favorite thing to do in the morning is sit where I was sleeping, right once I leave the bed, and groom. This is his favorite position, he will just prop himself against the wall and the floor and sit like this too, he is not picky about location. The old guy sat like this for a good 5 minutes.
My cat is fat.

Introducing John...and his woobie

This is my boy John and his all time favorite shirt. I'm pretty sure he wore it all the first five dates we had...just kidding, but he's constantly wearing it and if he's not, he's carrying it! :)
These pics were taking Friday night, went to celebrate Jenna's 23rd B-day. I posted both becuase the top one is cute, but I LOVE the bottom one! He's mid laugh, I'm mid emailing...actually I think he was telling me not to work....oops

Meeeemories...in the corner of my mind....

This is a special post dedicated to my once long hair. I cut it about 6 weeks ago to the very short short hair you saw before this post. I love my hair now but I stumbled across these photos taken in the summer time, and well, I miss it right now. I miss: ponytails, cute curls popping out a hat, sexy morning bed head, and braids. Although, I could do a killer mohawk now...
The top pic is one of my best friends Jenna Burgrabe and her husband Cameron. They were married in September and I was one of their bridesmaids. Below is my friends Mollie (left) and Sarah (right). I do love me some funny faces!

New favorite song - Sleep Walk

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAk_0N85wNk

You must listen to this, I'm sure everyone has heard it before but I just found it and l.o.v.e it. It's such a sweet meloncoly sound that you could listen to if your happy or sad, I think it's beautiful and wish I could find more music like this.

Fire right by my place...scary!!

There was a big apartment fire today three blocks from my place. This is on 6th and Detroit, I live one the corner of 4th, two block over is Detroit. This is what the news had to say:
"So far, no injuries are reported. KCAL9 on air news said it started when two workmen in a unit were doing something with solder. 120 firefighters fought the fire, knocking it down at 3:45 p.m."
120 firefighters! I can't begin to express how grateful I am for renters insurance! About 6 months ago a friend from work's apartment burned to the ground, she barely had to time to grab her cell phone and puppy before the house just calapsed. She didn't have renters insurance...and now most everyone I know at work has obtained it. It seems like there are quite a few of these happening lately, especially with these older buildings in my area, The Miracle Mile. They are around 100 years old, even this one was old, it just looks new on the outside. And thank goodness the fire station is at the end of my street so response time had to be almost nothing.

Dont hate, y'all, don't hate!!

I just HAVE to post this. Today is the most GORGEOUS day!! It's mid 70's, the air is tinged with supple warm winds, people are smiling and waving hello, it's a drop dead lovely day in LA! I walked out the house this morning and felt like huggin every stranger in sight, that's how happy this makes me! We have had so much rain lately, and it will cool down again shortly, but for the moment, life is blissful.

Christmas with the Family

This is my sister Suzanne and her son Ryan...I'm not sure what's with the towel, but isn't he soo cute! I wish I could be around a bit more, neither of my nephews really knows me :(

So my brother Robert brought a Wii (sp?) home for the Goodings and he and I played Wii Bowling a lot the first day. I am a little ashamed to admit, but I had a little sore muscle in my forearm the next day! And please don't ask me why both of us kept putting our leg behind us, clearly you don't need to do that!!!!
This is my other nephew Aidan, cute a a little button!! He is one of the smartest kids, I think it's due to my mom who's the most amazing school teacher I've ever seen. He is completely obsessed with dinosaurs and my younger sis Rachel got him a Build-a-Bear dino that she programed to say 'Hi Aidan'! When he opened it he was in genuine awe of the present, Aidan loves his Aunt Rachel!
And of course, me and my dad! This was about as far as I got with the pics, then my camera died, so I'm sorry I couldn't get anyone else in here! We were all together, Mom, Dad, Suzanne, Deborah, Robert, Ben, me, and Rachel. It was great to see everyone again!

The Kids

I am the proud mom of two children, Ninja (black) and Samurai (white). I found Ninja about 4 1/2 years ago when he was about 3 weeks old, wondering by himself in a bad part of town. I instantly fell in love, he is half Siamese and lives up to his name! When he was younger he would streak across the house at mock speed and all you would see is a black blur like the road runner! He's a big cat, 15 l.b.'s but the vet just says he's a big cat...panther really but he is such the lover. Samurai I adopted about 1 1/2 years ago, he was already 5 at the time. His name before I adopted was Wylie so that what I call him because believe it or not, he answers to it! Now Wylie is a big cat also, but he's just fat...18 l.b.'s!!. He's on a diet...seriously, how am I supposed to keep one cat on a diet and not the other??!! At any rate, he is very different from Ninja, except he is half Siamese as well. Wylie is very strong and if he wants to sit on you lap, by golly he's going to! They are both extreme talkers, never a dull (or quiet) moment in my house. So there are the Christmas pics of them opening their gifts. Each received a new food dish, one can of wet food, and a new toy with feather and bells, which they loved. Ninja loved the experience, he actually put his face in the bowl when I held it to him! Wylie, not so much. He hates to be held so this was rough for him, I only hold him if he needs ear drops or something so I think he was associating...
P.S. - Love the apron, don't you? Sorry, forgot I had it on, doesn't do much for the outfit :)

First post!

Haha, so this is (obviously) my first post and I must say, this blog thing is hard! I thought I was computer savvy but I have been grossly mistaken. I almost called my friend Bonnie who lives across the US to ask for her help, but then I gave it another try and got it!
At any rate, I have been inspired to start a blog by my dear friends from college who I still keep in daily contact with our own chat page. They are a constant source of strength and I love them to death! Their blog pages are oh so cute and are filled with their beautiful babies and husbands - I have neither, but I do have to super rad cats so I'm sure you all will be seeing a bit of them.
So....CHEERS TO THE FIRST POST!!
